Why I Do This Work

Nutrition and health have become so complicated.

There’s no shortage of information, but very little clarity. It’s hard to know what to eat, what supplements to take, what testing is actually helpful, and how it all applies to you.

That’s where I come in.

I take a root-cause, data-driven approach that looks at the full picture, connecting your symptoms, health history, nutrition, and lifestyle to identify what’s actually driving how you feel and where to focus.

My Experience

My approach is shaped by both personal experience and over 15 years of clinical practice.

Earlier in my career, I worked in hospital-based nutrition, primarily as a critical care dietitian and managing a team of clinical dietitians. I later transitioned into functional and integrative nutrition roles, where I trained extensively in advanced lab interpretation, gut health, and personalized nutrition protocols.

I’ve worked:

  • in hospital and critical care settings

  • in functional lab testing, supporting providers with test interpretation

  • and in clinical practice, helping patients apply this work in a practical, sustainable way

Today, I regularly interpret comprehensive bloodwork and functional testing and develop individualized plans that integrate nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation.

My Story

I didn’t always feel good in my own body.

After a particularly nasty bout of food poisoning, my health slowly fell apart. Conventional care told me my symptoms had nothing to do with diet or lifestyle and that there was nothing I could do to resolve them. I could only try to manage them.

That didn’t sit right with me, so I went searching for answers and found integrative and functional medicine.

It took time, but with the help of a well-trained functional medicine doctor, we addressed my digestive issues, food sensitivities, hormone and thyroid imbalances, persistent skin issues, toxin exposure, impaired detoxification, and nutrient deficiencies.

What made the difference was taking a more personalized, root-cause approach by looking at the full picture, using targeted testing when appropriate, and creating a plan that actually made sense for my body. For the first time, I felt like my doctor and I were on the same team, something I had never experienced before.

That experience didn’t just improve my symptoms. It transformed my health and completely changed the way I wanted to practice as a dietitian. I went back to school to deepen my understanding of this approach and, in 2018, became a board certified integrative and functional nutrition practitioner.

How I Work

My approach focuses on understanding what’s actually going on beneath the surface.

By looking at the full picture, including your symptoms, health history, nutrition, and lifestyle, we can identify where to focus and what will be most effective for you.

From there, we build a plan that is practical, sustainable, and tailored to your needs, using food as medicine, targeted supplementation, and testing when appropriate.

Whether you’re dealing with symptoms or simply want to take a more proactive approach to your health, my goal is to help you move forward with clarity and direction.

Because you deserve to feel good.
